In 2011, Nukeproof released its first World Cup race ready downhill (DH) bike: The Scalp. Since then, all of Nukeproof's downhill bikes have been raced at the highest levels of the sport and proven to be the perfect weapon for privateers around the world. The Dissent platform has been one of Nukeproof's most successful, winning first time out as a prototype at the Garbanzo DH race at Crankworx Whistler. It’s racked up multiple awards, national titles and finished on the UCI Downhill World Cup and Crankworx podiums in the 2022 season, undoubtedly this success will continue through the 2023 season as well. Why the V2 now℃ Simply put, Nukeproof designers and staff have a passion for racing DH! The initial concept designs for the Dissent Carbon looked so good, it had to happen. To help justify the ‘unjustifiable’ a Formula 1 standard of bike for the privateer and World Cup racer, Nukeproof needed to make sure it performed as well as it looked! With a fresh canvas and the option of working in carbon, Nukeproof's product team took full advantage to make performance gains and incorporate new features in multiple areas. With a host of Nukeproof athletes and Teams able to help test and develop the frame at the sport's highest level, the Dissent Carbon was given the green light. Following a full season in the spotlight at events like the UCI World Cup, Crankworx and Red Bull Hardline, the overhauled Dissent Carbon has proved ready to race. The revised suspension kinematics builds on the V1 Dissent Alloy and has been improved for the Dissent Carbon. A high beginning rate gives a more supple beginning stroke, with a steep mid-stroke to give good stability and support and a regressive mid to end stroke to prevent end stroke spiking and limited travel use. The added sensitivity allows rider to go up a spring rate without adding harshness, to work better with air shocks and overall, still pedals exceptionally well. The Dissent Carbon offers a plethora of features and adjustments, allowing World Cup racers and privateers alike to perfectly dial in their race set-up. - Adjustable main pivot. 3 positions allow adjustment in suspension progression between 21%/25%/28%. - Adjustable reach headset, allowing +/-6mm in adjustment. - One frame, two wheel set-ups. Rear wheel flip chip allows for full 29’’ or Mullet 29’’/27.5’’. - Adjustable Chainstay Flip Chips, 3 positions allowing for adjustment of wheelbase. The Dissent Carbon follows Nukeproof updated sizing structure for DH models with options NP1, NP2, NP3 allowing riders along with the +/- 6mm of reach adjust to find the perfect sizing. 200mm travel is available in both 29’’/29’’ and Mullet 29’’/27.5’’ set-ups. The frame has integrated bump stops, tube in tube cable routing, plenty of mud clearance for a 2.5’’ tyre, Enduro Bearings, easy to work with standards such as Threaded 83mm BB and ISCG05. There is a Clear Protection Kit to protect the paint and 3D Contoured Rubber Frame Protection for the downtube, seatstays, chainstays and ISCG05 mounts reducing noise and increasing protection further. All spares available for a fully supported package. This all adds up to a high performing race machine that’s easy to live with and work on.
